The chain, the asset representation, and the limits of a stock ticker onchain.

Why Robinhood Chain?

Robinhood documents a permissionless EVM-compatible chain with ETH gas. Published configuration lists mainnet chain ID 4663 and testnet 46630. HoodPools is an independent application concept, with no claimed Robinhood partnership or endorsement.

What a Stock Token represents

Robinhood Stock Tokens are tokenised debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. They provide economic exposure to underlying securities; holding one does not give legal or beneficial ownership of the underlying company’s shares.

A pool labeled NVDA / HOODP would contain an onchain Stock Token. It would not be a brokerage account holding NVIDIA shares in the LP’s name.

Canonical assets matter

Symbols are not unique identifiers. The live app must verify each token against the issuer’s canonical deployment list and confirm the chain before approving or transferring anything. The current pool pages do not publish invented addresses.

Builders acquire existing tokens through supported secondary venues. Direct primary issuance and redemption is restricted to authorized participants rather than being a general mint button for any app.

Corporate actions and valuation

Stock token integrations need to account for corporate-action multipliers. Robinhood’s documentation distinguishes multiplier-adjusted onchain token prices from raw underlying-equity REST quotes. Mixing the two without conversion can misprice liquidity.

The demo uses simple fixed prices only. It neither fetches a live oracle nor models dividends, splits, price impact or changes in token inventory.

Open infrastructure does not remove restrictions

The issuer documents jurisdiction and investor restrictions, including restrictions involving US persons. A live frontend and operating entity need an eligibility design appropriate to their users and activities. Access to an EVM chain alone does not establish permission to distribute or trade a regulated product.

Refer to the issuer’s current terms and prospectus for asset-specific conditions. HoodPools’ demo cannot determine an individual user’s legal eligibility.
